4 - Match Rules

  • 4.1 - All 1 - League Rules still apply within matches.
  • 4.2 - Servers should take place on a dedicated server. Serveme.tf servers take priority over any other dedicated servers. Teams may choose to play on other dedicated servers if both team leaders accept it.
    • 4.2.1 - Default server locations are Chicago, Illinois for North America, and Netherlands for Europe.
    • 4.2.2 - Teams that disagree on which server to use may choose to host the enemy team's map pick, while the opposing team will host the other team's pick.
  • 4.3 - Players must record their POV’s (Point of View) every game without fail. Failure to do so will result in a penalty against both the team and player. Please check this video if you need help.
    • 4.3.1 - Servers should contain the demo_check_plugin with the setting sm_democheck_warn 0. The adoption of this plugin has made the severity of punishments for missing demos stronger.
    Punishments are as follows:

    1st Offense - 3 Week Ban.
2nd+ Offense - Up to the staff team, with consideration of the player's past actions.

    • 4.3.2 - Currently EU serveme.tf does not contain the plugin listed. Players will still receive a ban based on staff discretion if they fail to provide demo files.
  • 4.4 - Cheating/Exploiting is strictly prohibited.
    • 4.4.1 - Exploiting comes in many forms. Please reach out to a staff member if you’re unsure.
    • 4.4.2 - When a player is banned for cheating the active roster team will be disbanded and unable to complete the rest of the season.
    Punishments are as follows:

    1st Offense - 4 year ban.
    2nd Offense - Permanent.
VAC Bans: Permanent (Unless un-TF2 related ban, which must be cleared by a staff member).

  • 4.5 - Teams have 15 minutes after match start time to ready up. Teams who fail to comply will be forced to start the match if minimum team members are met or give the opposing team a forfeit win.
    • 4.5.1 - Staff may give teams extra time given the situation and ability for teams to play. A game being played holds higher priority than a forfeit.
  • 4.6 - Teams may pause for 5 minutes total per map.
    • 4.6.1 - Pausing during high intensity moments (i.e. ÜberCharge or pushes) may result in round results overturned, or worse match results. If a team does pause during a high intensity moment please contact a staff member immediately if you believe it affected the outcome.
  • 4.7 - Teams may choose to play with a ringer/merc if they cannot find enough players for their match. The opposing team leader must accept the ringer/merc.
    • 4.7.1 - Players that play in the lowest division of their corresponding league i.e. Newcome/Amatuer for RGL and Low/Open for ETF2L cannot be denied. Similarly the players in the lowest division for TFArena cannot be denied.
    • 4.7.2 - If a Ringer/Merc is denied by the other team, you may contact a staff member if you believe it is an unfair denial of a ringer. Staff may veto the denial if they believe it is a fair Ringer/Merc.
  • 4.8 - Players must not exceed 120+ ping. If ping is affecting gameplay another server should be used.
    • 4.8.1 - This can come in the form of selecting the best region to accommodate your ping.
  • 4.9 - Trying to play with an alt account, or ban evading is strictly against the rules.
    • 4.9.1 - When a player is banned for alting/ban evading the active roster team will be disbanded and unable to complete the rest of the season.
    • 4.9.2 - If the owner of the alt account is not found, the team that played with the alting player will be punished even harsher.
    Punishments are as follows:

1st Offense - 4 year ban. With alt accounts being permanently banned.
    2nd Offense - Permanent Ban.

  • 4.10 - Usage of a coach during a match to relay information, give tips/ideas is strictly prohibited.
  • 4.11 - Scripting is a form of game modification to allow for certain actions to be automated or allow for certain actions not possible in the settings tab. Please reach out to a staff member for clarification on the allowed and banned scripts.
